I think it went … I think it went beyond Apocalypse Now in the portrayal of the terror felt at the moment of death…as you are murdered.
…Though I can’t speak from experience.
What ‘Fire Walk … What ‘Fire Walk with Me’ actually means will be the subject of fervent analysis for as long as it exists but, like most of Lynch’s work, no answer will ever please everybody. But this is its genius. It’s fun to deconstruct, for sure, but with ‘Fire Walk with Me’, coming from someone who watched the series and has researched Lynch, I feel it just best to lie back and let the film’s dark, perverse beauty wash over you. It’s simultaneously the most horrifying and beautiful film ever made.
I think there are … I think there are many different angles you can take on what Bob represents and I think mostly they’re all right. That’s the beauty of a Lynch movie – it can be whatever you want it to be, and that’s what makes me keep rewatching them over and over because each time I can add to my own interpretation of their meaning. Interestingly enough though, if you read ‘The Secret Diary Of Laura Palmer’ (by Jennifer Lynch) it is strongly indicated that Bob is in fact her father. Exactly as anton188 says.
I don’t know about … I don’t know about that… I think Anton may be right… David lynch himself believes through transcendental Meditation that an individuals being can create change in those around him/her. Someone who has done the things Laura’s dad did could easily cause hysteria for a town based on this… imho
yeah you’re right, … yeah you’re right, though that would be more realistic, B.O.B was real in the Twin Peaks world. otherwise Dale wouldn’t have been possessed at the end, that just wouldn’t make sense…
Interesting theory … Interesting theory that would give it a more realistic angle. But then you have to understand the mind of Lynch. No offense, but the theory doesn’t hold up. Mike makes no sense nor the Black Lodge, Cooper’s visions, Windham Earl losing his soul, Cooper getting trapped in the BL, Briggs getting abducted, the old woman who wasn’t there, etc. In fact you should watch the show again that is not what it is about at all.
